We had the opportunity to attend Hyvolution International 2026, the leading global event dedicated to hydrogen technologies and solutions for the energy transition.

This yearโ€™s edition brought together key stakeholders from across the hydrogen value chain, showcasing the latest technological innovations and policy developments shaping the future of low-carbon energy systems. The event provided a valuable platform for in-depth discussions on industrial decarbonisation, clean mobility, and large-scale hydrogen deployment.

Our presence at Hyvolution 2026 allowed us to:

  • gain insights into emerging hydrogen technologies and market trends

  • engage with international industry leaders, investors, and policymakers

  • strengthen our understanding of opportunities relevant to Central Asia and Mongolia, regions with significant potential in the energy transition

We return from Hyvolution with strengthened expertise and renewed perspectives that will support our advisory work for public and private stakeholders navigating the hydrogen economy.

The EU currently consumes around 8 million tonnes of hydrogen per year, mainly for refining and industry. Less than 1% of this hydrogen is renewable today. EU targets aim for 40 GW of electrolyser capacity by 2030, yet only a few hundred MW are operational so far.

Green hydrogen production costs in Europe often range between โ‚ฌ4โ€“7/kg, driven by energy prices, land constraints and permitting delays. This gap between ambition and execution opens the door to international partnerships.

For international companies, investing in these countries means:

- securing upstream positions in future hydrogen value chains,
- diversifying supply sources beyond Europe,
- reducing long-term production costs,
- and delivering tangible climate impact.

For Mongolia and for the Central Asian countries, it means:

- accelerating energy diversification,
- attracting foreign investment and advanced technologies,
- building local skills and industrial capacity,
- positioning itself as a future clean energy exporter.

Letโ€™s explore how Europeโ€™s expertise and potential of these countries can converge into a sustainable, profitable hydrogen future.

We thank the organisers and participants for the quality of the exchanges and look forward to building on the insights gained during the event.
