Step By Steppe strengthens its presence in Mongolia and Central Asia: prospecting, partnerships and 2026 outlook
Step By Steppe conducted a prospecting mission in Mongolia and Central Asia during the first two weeks of December 2025. This mission is part of the company’s international development strategy and aims to identify cooperation opportunities in key sectors for both local and European economies.
Targeted meetings with Mongolian economic stakeholders
During this mission, SBS met with Mongolian companies operating in strategic sectors such as:
cashmere,
industrial and technical minerals,
zeolite (applications in water treatment, agriculture, construction materials, gas purification and catalysis),
strategic metals,
agri-food,
media and communication,
infrastructure.
ZEOLITE
These discussions helped identify concrete areas for collaboration and mutually beneficial investment opportunities.
Participation in the Women’s Evening at the Embassy of France in Mongolia
Step By Steppe was honored to be invited to the Women’s Evening organized by the Embassy of France in Mongolia, in the presence of His/Her Excellency and members of the diplomatic corps.
This event also provided an opportunity to meet the executives of French companies involved in major projects in Mongolia, notably:
Orano, leading the development of the Zuuvch-Ovoo and Dulaan Uul uranium deposits,
Poma, in charge of the first urban cable transport system in Ulaanbaatar.
These exchanges confirmed the growing momentum of Franco-Mongolian cooperation in high value-added sectors.
Participation in an Oyu Tolgoi tender
Step By Steppe had the opportunity to participate in a tender organized by Oyu Tolgoi, one of the world’s largest copper-gold mining projects.
Although Step By Steppe was not selected as the successful bidder, this participation represents an important milestone for the company. The tender was part of the national reforestation program “One Billion Trees”, to which Oyu Tolgoi actively contributes.
Step By Steppe is pleased to have been associated with a major environmental initiative.
Meeting with the French-Mongolian Chamber of Commerce and Industry
Step By Steppe also met with the FMCCI to prepare a France–Mongolia Geo-Economics Business Lunch, scheduled for the first quarter of 2026.
The final date will be announced shortly. This event will be open to all companies wishing to meet Mongolian partners and explore new cooperation opportunities.
